A size chart reflects the measurements of the size range of your clothing brand. A public size chart for your customers normally includes the measurement of :

There will be different size chart for different kinds of clothing. Your size chart should be based on your target customers. For example, the sporty clothing is usually in a tighter size than everyday wear to show the body of the fitness lovers.

How to make a size chart?

There are 3 ways to make a size chart for your clothing brand.

1. Standing on the shoulders of giants allows you to grow faster. When you are a starter without much experience, I will recommend copying exactly the same measurements of the clothing from some big brands.
Picking out 1 piece of clothing that you think is the most suitable for your design, and then measure the sizes of each part. After that, you get a basic size chart for 1 size. (Click here to see how to measure sizes of clothing)

2. If you don’t have any apparels that suit your design to measure. Sending us some pictures of the style you need, according to our decades of experience, we are able to make it 90%-95% similar sizes based on your pictures. At the same time, if you can send us your body sizes, that’s even better. It allows our designer to make your size chart base on the pictures and your body sizes. 3. Sending us your clothing sample to copy exactly the same size, cutting, style is the best way for both you and us.

Tips for size grading.

Now you have the basic measurement for one of the sizes. Then size grading is the next step. Drop the difficult task to us, we won’t make you disappointed. What if you want to do size grading by yourself? Some tips from our veteran designers:

1. Always remember that one piece of clothes is a unit. Any changes to any part of the garment should be considered to see if it will have an impact on other parts.

2.The grade rules can be changed to suit your target market.
However, in most cases, you should keep the grade rules between each size of the sample the same. This standard grade will be reflected in your public size chart. So that your end customers won’t feel confused.
